In the 21^st century, we are facing major changes from a global society subject to swift changes in technology and in the way we communicate. From its inception, but even more in the current context, AKKAM is firmly committed to business ethics which may be summarised in two words: transparency and honesty.

We believe that the fact that we are based in Spain (Madrid) is an asset, considering that the Iberian Peninsula has been throughout history a privileged space for commercial and cultural exchanges with the Arab nations and moreover, our country hosted a unique period in history, the peaceful coexistence of three major cultures, Christian, Moslem and Jewish in cities such as Toledo, Granada or Cordoba, fostering intense relations with North Africa in the Middle Ages. A new world of knowledge spread from Baghdad, where the School of Translators produced translations into Arabic in the fields of medicine, astronomy, philosophy and physics that were re-translated into latin and other languages in Spain before being disseminated in the Christian kingdoms of Europe. In this sense, we believe that sharing knowledge is a way of improving cultural and international relations between countries and people.

Our goal in a world marked by strong political and social tensions between the West and many countries of the Middle East is to make a small contribution towards tolerance, generating an environment of trust in commercial, professional and personal transactions between individuals of different backgrounds to ensure that each culture may progress within the framework of its own authentic values.
